Today we are reclaiming our property

After the horses worked at Fair Hill Training center, I came back to the farm to be with the horses that a laying-up. We also have yearlings that we are breaking starting in September, as well as broodmares in foal.

There is a tree line around three sides of the farm and it is so overgrown with weeds that you couldn't see over them to the adjacent farm. We got out the weed-wackers and just mowed the weeds down. We took no prisoners! It should take us about three days to complete the project and then I will be able to mow behind the fence line and up to the woods.

Mimi is resting at the farm and getting ultrasound treatments and acupuncure on her back. Mandy is racing Thursday and then she will come home for a three day rest. The dogs are sleeping in the house in the AC.

  1. What a beautiful farm you have! Living in the Bay area of northern California, it's hard for me to grasp the luxury of space and pace that you have. I'm glad Jessica shared your blog with us!

  2. I happened upon Jessica's delightful blog today and I followed her over to your farm. It's absolutely lovely here. Ooh, I also wanted to see for myself, what a cowgirl-ballerina was REALLY like. Do you ride in a tutu? ::smiling::
